PROGRAMS
Angels of Hope is a certified registered Canadian charity that supports survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. AOH provides long-term support aids to survivors with mental health (trauma) and addictions, provides support and guidance to family members and loved ones, assists survivors in accessing safe shelter and resources, and assigns every client with a caseworker who will support her / him / they throughout their healing.
Each client will have access to their caseworker on a daily basis. During daily assessments, AOH determines the client’s immediate needs, creates a safety plan, care plan and works alongside the client to develop 6-month, 12-month and 24-month goals.
AOH provides guidance, education, and support for families and partners of survivors and helps them understand the best methods to support their loved one. In addition, AOH offers peer support to clients from a trauma-informed background. Peer support workers are trained on sensitivity and have lived experiences with human trafficking. Clients of AOH have the opportunity to be paired with a peer support worker, to meet on a weekly basis or whenever they feel the need to connect with a peer. The peer support worker acts as a mentor, friend and guide for survivors on their journey to healing. We believe peer support workers play a vital role in a client’s recovery.
